Solartechno is proud to be part of the EU-funded RE-SKIN project (see www.reskinproject.eu for more information), which focuses on developing innovative and sustainable solutions for renovating European buildings.
As part of RE-SKIN, four buildings (in Milan – Italy, Lille – France, Burgas – Bulgaria and Langreo – Spain) have been selected for renovation with sustainable components, ranging from a school to an apartment complex. Our specific contribution to this project is the development of an advanced battery system made from recycled electric vehicle battery cells.
Why Use Recycled Electric Vehicle Battery Cells?
At Solartechno, we strongly believe in circularity and sustainability. Manufacturing a battery storage system using recycled electric vehicle batteries offers a dual solution: it reduces waste while creating a new, sustainable source of energy storage. Electric vehicles contain valuable materials that, even at the end of their lifespan, can still play an essential role in battery storage systems. By repurposing these materials, we contribute to reducing the demand for new raw materials.
